why can’t I find this teen wolf episode anywhere????

The silver lining of this Wondy business is that superheroes get recast all the time when they’re rebooted, so I guess I’ll just have to wait another…however many years for a Wonder Woman I can actually be excited about.

I’m planning to test out what style I want to use for this possible webcomic by inking and coloring the same picture a few different ways, so I sketched out a simple, straightforward scene to play around with later.

The colors are a sloppy mess, but mostly I just wanted to slap something down really quick.

In which Freddie makes some kind of hilarious joke. About what, only she knows.

Anonymous said: Your gesture drawings look seriously amazing, do you have any advice for not getting too caught up in details and getting that kind of flow out out them? Whenever I try I always end up with a weird garbled mess instead of anything that makes sense. :(

Thank you! I think one of the keys is to keep them quick so you don’t have a chance to futz around with details—30 secs to 60 secs works best for me. It also helps to try to focus on the line of action—that’s what makes your figure have movement (really, I should be more diligent about this myself).

Also, try to keep your lines simplified using mostly just straights against curves—it’ll help with the flow and also create sharp contrast.

Be sure to practice a lot—if the first few don’t come out to your liking, it’s probably just because you’re not warmed up enough. For example, this was the first set of gesture drawings I did:

(Kinda all over the place, and mostly squiggly)

And this was the last, after my hand felt more warmed up:

(Still a bit of a mess, but the lines are a bit less squiggly and more confident; my wrist has loosened up)

Just takes some practice and repetition!

This person goes into it in much better detail than I do (and has pictures and links!) so give that a look and see if that helps!
